More Than Notes
Why is the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam considered by many to be the world's greatest orchestra?

What are the distinctive characteristics that define the performances of Perahia? Pollini?

More Than Notes is an exciting way to enhance your enjoyment and understanding of WPAS performances.  This season, our lecturers will offer insights and comparisons between the performing artists in each of the following genres – Great Orchestras, Pianists, Vocalists, and Strings – in addition to further illuminating the written program notes.  Sessions are led by two leading classical music experts: Ben Roe, recently named General Manager of WDAV in Charlotte, N.C., and Marilyn Cooley, on-air classical music host and producer at WETA.

More Than Notes is a benefit for all WPAS Members and Subscribers. These concert previews begin one hour prior to select performances and last 30 minutes. Seating is available on a first-come-first-served basis. A ticket to the corresponding performance or a WPAS membership card is required for entrance.

More Than Notes concert previews are generously made possible by PricewaterhouseCoopers, managing partner Chris Simmons, and WPAS board member Alison Simmons.
